The main requirement for bridges structure steel includes minimum yield strength level & good toughness. In addition good weldability & corrosion resistance is desirable.
S 420/460 N/NL grades : normalized, weldable, fine grain structural steel plates according to EN 10025-3:2009 with min yield strength levels; Its combination of high strengh levels, excellent formability and welding performance makes it the right choice for bridge fabrication. Available in wide dimensional range. Each grade can be obtained with guaranteed impact properties at -20°C (N grades), or for low-temperature applications at -50°C (NL grades).
S 420/460 M/ML grades : thermomechnically- rolled, fine grain structural steel characterised by minimum yied strength, good weldability and high resistance to brittle racking. The grades are available with guaranteed impact properties at -20°C (M grades), or for low-temperature applications at -50°C (ML grades).
